against the damming at the Amazon river but I think they will just
go ahead with it

ironical thing is that there are some fish that is going extinct in
the wild but thriving in captivity because hobbyists breed
them
Same thing
about animals like Star and Radiated Tortoises, Australian Lungfish
etc.
I agree
they are almost extinct in the wild but they are actually doing
well in captivity because so many breeders around.
If only
Governments actually have proper legislation like making
micro-chipping these CITES protected animals compulsory and having
proper breeder certification like dogs, I think this can actually
help curb the illegal wildlife trade and at the same time allow
these animals to thrive in captivity.
I always
find those reports about how extinct some of these animals are when
you look at those in captivity, it’s really not that bad. I mean if
they want they can actually try to tap into these resources and
reintroduce the same animals back into the wild.
Reason
besides illegal trade why these animals are going extinct are due
to loss of natural environment and some of these animals are also
more sensitive and die very easily when young.
